J-1 Visa Program
The Luxembourg-American Chamber of Commerce in the United States is pleased to partner with the French-American Chamber of Commerce (New York Chapter) in order to provide our LACC member companies with an access to the Exchange Visitor Program and J1 Visas.
The French-American Chamber of Commerce (New York Chapter) is a designated U.S. State Department sponsor of the Exchange Visitor Program. The Exchange Visitor Program was established by the Mutual Educational and Cultural Exchange Act of 1961 as described in the Federal Regulations at 22 CFR Part 62.
The FACC is authorized by the State Department to sponsor eligible Interns and Trainees on a J-1 visa by issuing the Certificate of Eligibility, Form DS-2019. With this document, a foreign candidate with the offer of an internship or training program from an eligible company in the United States may apply for J-1 visa at the American Embassy in Luxembourg.
The J-1 visa allows participants in this program to come to the United States for up to 12 months as Interns or for up to 18 months as Trainees for full-time, paid exchange programs at eligible LACC member companies.
Prior to submitting an application, please read the J-1 Visa Requirements and contact the FACC via email for other program information, rules and criteria not listed here. To verify your company’s eligibility to host intern/trainees, please complete the Host Company Eligibility Checklist and send it to icdp(at)faccnyc.org.
